The whole way home we talked about parts we liked and favorite songs and singers. I gotta admit - it was no hard thing to watch or listen to Captain Von Trapp. He was gorgeous! And could sing beautifully.
I came home and looked up Adelvise - and my mom was totally right - it is a flower that grows in the Alps - and no, there is no other meaning than that ... besides the figurative meaning of new life that grows from the mountain after the spring thaw. Yes, once again mom was right!
Anyway, we had a great time. I'm going to look into getting tickets for more shows. I was talking on the way down there how I can remember going with my folks to the theatre. I remember feeling very grown up, sophisticated and I don't know just somehow special. I'd like that for my kids too. I'd like for them to experience those things as often as possible so they can appreciate the arts but also just to see how much there is in the world to enjoy.
Here are some pics we took before leaving for dinner and the show. We got all spiffied up for it of course ... well as spiffy as we can get at the end of a long week!
All dressed up and somewhere to go!
And I finally got a good picture of Alex and me.
Sarah and I took one together as well, but there aren't enough filters on Photoshop to make it acceptable!!
