... we haven't read any of the book we waiting in line at MIDNIGHT to buy last night. But in all fairness, we pretty much went to bed when we got home. Then we slept in and got up in time to go pick up Patrick. So, needless to say, Alex has been quite happily distracted.
And, for those of you who don't know, Patrick is Alex's best friend. And the GREAT SUCK-HOLE to the SOUTH is stealing him away too! Yeah, he and his folks are moving to the state due south of us (I refuse to even say it's name - I've renamed it above much better). Although, I, personally am sick and tired of people moving down there, I'm more tired of my children's friends leaving. Alex has moments of tears and sadness but seems to be doing okay for the most part anyway.
So, since Patrick is moving at the end of this month, I've either had Patrick here or Alex has been there every weekend for the past 4-6 weeks. But in hindsight, I'm not sure that was such a great idea. Alex has grown accustomed to seeing him each weekend - but at the same time how could I say no?
Please keep Alex in your thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks. He's making friends at school and doing great - but other real true friends like Patrick, he doesn't really have. Alex and Patrick were in the same class when Alex moved to Charles Haskell in 2nd grade. They've been best friends since day one. So this is going to really be hard for him.
In case you're wondering if I've sold Sarah to the gypsies - well there weren't any buyers - so instead she's spending the weekend with a friend.
And just to follow-up on last night. Yes, I did take pictures - but it was with our old digital camera that now I can't get the images off the blasted thing. So, as soon as Sarah comes home tomorrow I'll make her help me try to transfer them from the camera's internal memory (didn't have a card thingy last night) to the card. Then I'll happily post them.
