Clothes shopping wasn't painful...

I can't believe it! Shopping was actually not painful but very enjoyable -- even fun.

I had a meeting today at the Oklahoma Heritage Museum where one of clients was speaking. Anyway, we had a cold front come through so the short-sleeve top I'd planned to wear with my light-weight slacks were definitely not an option. As I started sifting through my closet this morning I realized that I desperately needed to go shopping. So much so that if the malls had been open at 8 am I'd have gone. Anyway, I managed to look presentable and didn't freeze during my meeting. Buut I knew that I needed to bite the bullet and go force myself to go shopping.

I asked Sarah if she wanted to go clothes shopping with me for me. I had to clarify the for me part so she'd realize that this wasn't going to be hours in stores she liked. So, after dinner, Sarah and I headed to the mall. I knew New York & Company carried tall pants so we went there. Well, not only did they have plenty of talls in stock in my size in different colors, patterns and textures, they were on sale too. I ended up with 3 new pairs of pants and 3 shirts. One pair is basic black so they go with all 3 shirts and the other 2 each have 2 shirts I can choose from.

So, I'm set for quite a while considering how rarely I actually meet with clients. But the amazing this is that Sarah and I were having a blast. She got a bit well, frustrated with me. According to her, I was being entirely too picky about the cut of my shirts. But when I pointed out that I have to look professional she backed off. She ended up finding my favorite shirt - I'll try to post some pics of me in my snazzy new clothes.

yeah - well they tried very very hard to get me to sign up for a NY&Co credit card. I knew that'd just be plain stupid dangerous. My budget only allows it so often - but it was a great time. Sarah says I can't wear one of my new outfits until I have my next client meeting - but that's not til next week!!!

p.s. almost called you and Maryanne while watching the convention tonight. Sarah Palin's little girl was holding her baby brother and being a caring sister, noticed his hair was slightly out of place. Guess what!!!!! being a wise, caring, sweet girl, she licked her hand and, you know it, she smoothed his hair and made him all handsome. I didn't tell her to do it!!!!!
