Google AdSense

Well - since my poll about adsense is over and the resounding winner was - what's google adsense - I figured I'd do a minor bit of educating. On the left side of my blog - half-way down or so - is a brown box with ads in it. Those are google ads. Because I signed up for google adsense, and allow the cute little box on my blog, if anyone sees something they're interested in or whatever, when they click on the ad, I get paid. Not a lot usually - but I figured it's not a huge annoying distraction, the ads have been to like target.com or other equally harmless links, it costs the person clicking nothing just the advertiser, so why not.

I have quite a few clients who use google advertising. It's very fair to the advertiser. The advertiser only gets charged for the ad being clicked on - not just for appearing on a page. So, they get real results that mean whatever their ad was meant something to someone. And it's extremely cost-effective for the advertiser. We recommend it often - especially for our retail clients trying to sell their wares.
